THE DIFFERENT LEVELS.png

Class levels are designed to ensure that every participant receives appropriate instruction, challenge, and support for their current ability. Understanding the difference between a

Beginner/Improver, Mixed Ability, and Intermediate class

will help you choose the right session for your needs.

BEGINNER/IMPROVER

This class is ideal for those who are new to Reformer Pilates or looking to build a strong foundation.

The focus is on learning the basics, such as correct alignment, breath control, core activation, and safe use of the Reformer.

Movements are slower and more structured to allow time for understanding and refining technique.

While the class is gentle in pace, it still provides an effective full-body workout, and modifications are offered to accommodate different fitness levels. This is the perfect class for beginners or those returning after a break.

MIXED ABILITY

A mixed ability class caters to a broad range of experience levels, from confident beginners to those with more practice.

Exercises are taught with layered progressions, meaning individuals can work at a level that suits them—whether using supportive modifications or challenging variations. Instructors guide each person to adjust the intensity based on their ability, ensuring a safe yet effective workout.

This class is great for those who enjoy flexibility in their practice and are comfortable with the basics while exploring new challenges.

INTERMEDIATE

Intermediate classes are designed for those with a solid foundation in Reformer Pilates who are ready to progress further.

The pace is quicker, the exercises are more complex, and there is a greater emphasis on control, endurance, and precision. This class introduces more advanced movements, requiring strong core engagement, coordination, and an understanding of how to adjust the Reformer to challenge different muscle groups.

While modifications may still be provided, participants are expected to have experience using the Reformer confidently and executing movements with good technique.
